Why the long face?
Jerry and I were partnered up in Iraq in '03 and spent a lot of time together, running rampant in Baghdad and around the country. As part of our job, we were supposed to learn our way around and Jerry and I took every opportunity to drive every street and alley in that city, finding adventure and mischief where we could. Without knowing any better, we gridded Sadr City and drove every street in it. Oops. The rest of the team would give us dumbfounded looks when we'd return with crazy photos of everywhere we'd been. We found some caged lions, nearly abandoned, with the funniest warning signs posted on the outside of their enclosure, a warning that listed items that should not be thrown in the cage, ie, MRE's, water bottles, dogs. Dogs?! We even went to the horse racing track and took our pictures with the sad looking steeds! And, of course, every moment was accompanied by Jerry's hilarious commentary. Jerry, I really miss you, but you remain with us in our many wonderful memories and stories of times spent together. See you again.
